Release Overview
This firmware release 1.1.0.12 is a general release targeted for commercial use with AT&T, Verizon and Telstra M2MOne SIM SKUs. While the 1.1.0.12 firmware has been verified on Claro Internet APN and SIM for LTE-M in Brazil, it is still going through the homologation process there.
This release contains a fix for occasional spurious high pulse counts due to RF interference. The update is most important for deployments using the Davis 6410 wind anemometer. A few improvements in terms of tracking deployments for Arable Customer Success have been added as well.
The 1.1.0.12 release will be applied both in manufacturing and in over-the-air upgrades of the existing Arable Mark 2 devices in the field.
The use of Arable Mark 2 and Arable Solar with a 20-min sync interval for weather alerts is in a limited release as we build more field data for different geographies and conditions. Reach out to Arable Customer Success at support@arable.com or via the Help icon in the app to enable this on a seasonal basis for the new weather alert capabilities in Arable Mobile 3.1.0 or higher.
New Features
- A new command to undeploy devices remotely over-the-air has been implemented with firmware 1.1.0.12 so that Arable Customer Success can help keep the status of removed devices current.
- The 1.1.01.12 firmware has a new reset 5 that helps track deployments made by customers so that Arable Customer Success can provide better support. Reset 6 is for undeployment.
Defect Fixes
One of the final issues to be addressed for the Davis 6410 Anemometer integration is the occasional spurious high pulse counts that were seen in some deployments. This occurred when Arable Bridge was installed too close to the Arable Mark 2 antenna, creating RF interference that led to a debouncing delay on pulse delivery. Firmware 1.1.0.12 screens out those erroneous pulses. This has largely resolved the issue, and we will update the Bridge installation guide to ensure users maintain a sufficient distance between Bridge and the Mark antenna.- To avoid a potential race condition and flash corruption, the Firmware 1.1.0.12 stops access to the Flash/SEEPROM before a reset of the Arable Mark.
Known Issues
- In order to ensure year-round operations with the firmware 1.1.0.12 idle power level at 900 μA, it is recommended to deploy with Arable Solar.
- The Mark 2 does not trigger redeployment when the mount is inserted, as it did for the first-generation Mark device. The Mark 2 redeployment is done by pressing the new user button.
- While native Claro LTE-M support has been validated, the ANATEL regulatory approach and Claro homologation are still ongoing.
- While native Verizon LTE-M support has been validated, the Verizon homologation is still ongoing.
